Signing as artist/co-producer with Soul Spirit Music will allow DJ Yoni to explore electro and dance territory in correlation with the current market.

We recently had a very pleasant surprise when Mr. Philippe Corti (himself!) contacted the label Soul Spirit Music to add " SHAK’IT " to his compilationOPERATION CORTI " !

Nelson Leeroy and Robert Pires provide vocals for this track, and it must be said that the company they keep is none too shabby: the compilation also features James Brown, Lou Rawls, Curtis Mayfield, Jimmy Smith and Masters at Work.

This track was inspired by an interview in which Nelson Leeroy explained the difficulty French artists often have getting recognized by the “big” record labels in France, especially when they choose the language of Shakespeare to express their art.

“No Man is a Prophet in His Own Country” — a very telling title — was extremely well received by the underground community. It is the first release by artist-producer Nelson Leeroy, a multi-talented young man fascinated by the organic groove of Black American music and trained in a wide variety of musical genres ranging from classical to modern. Nelson’s warm, deep voice is showcased to great advantage in this soulful monologue.
